Blue Mountains Community Interagency
MCRN plays a leadership role of resourcing the BM community sector in many ways:
The Blue Mountains is widely recognised as having one of the best networked sectors in NSW. Monthly Community Interagency meetings are a key strategy.
- MCRN convenes and resources the meetings and distribute minutes to a mailing list of 95 community and government agencies.
- We act as an information clearing-house and send information on community issues and events electronically to the above groups and community activists and groups.
- We produce BM Community Services Contact Sheet, Interagency list and BM Services E-mail list.
- We provide focused support to struggling organisations during change periods. We facilitate Planning and Evaluation sessions as requested - 6 in the year.
- We convene BM Community Development Workers meetings.
- We meet with politicians and advisers on current issues.
- We represent the Mountains on Western Sydney Community Forum, TRI Community Exchange, Nepean Organisation DoCS Dialogue Committee, Nepean Families First implementation Group, TeamWest Human Services and many working parties.
- We have active participation in BM Community Development Expenditure Scheme (CDSE) Committee, which advises local clubs on funding for small local projects, and on the Growing Regional Opportunities for Work (GROW) committee.
