Mountains Community Resource Network is the peak body for Blue Mountains community organisations. We work with funded and unfunded groups and disadvantaged communities developing social justice collaborative networks and infrastructure. We represent the Mountains on local and regional projects.
The Mountains Community Resource Network:
- Resources organisations, groups and individuals within the BM to develop collaborative action.
- Convenes the BM Community Interagency, Mountains Multicultural Interagency and the Raising Awareness of Mental Illness (RAMI) Forum.
- Ensures the Blue Mountains community sector is informed on government initiatives, social policy and program developments, social planning and decision making processes.
- Works towards regional equity and best practice in government and non-government human service provision and advocates on behalf of disadvantaged communities in the Blue Mountains.
- Represents the Mountains on regional and statewide forums and working parties and promote MCRN as the local peak organisation advocating on behalf of BM non-government agencies.
- Provides facilitation, co-ordination, training and resources to management Committees, workers and un-paid social justice activists.
- Auspices the Mental Health RAMI Project.
