Blue Mountains Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation (BM ANTaR)
and
Blue Mountains People for Reconciliation (BMP4R)
We are a group of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Blue Mountains residents who meet on a monthly basis to discuss and take action in relation to a broad range of issues, locally and at a state and national level. We support the work of local Aboriginal Groups including BM Aboriginal Culture and Resource Centre, Gundungurra Tribal Council, Gunar Aboriginal Educational Consultative Group and Darug Tribal Corporation.
Issues include recognition of the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Australians; support for the Stolen Generations; challenging racism; lobbying for welcome to country or acknowledgment of country at all civic and community events in the Blue Mountains. The group has been operating since 1997 and is always open to new members. We meet regularly on the third Friday of each month, 1 – 3 pm at the Mountains Community Resource Network in Lawson.
